S1E14- A Unicorn Named Rest

Resting in our house on a sick day seems to be as much a myth as a unicorn lately. And until
I did some inner work, I couldn’t understand why my children wouldn’t rest. Now, I have gained insight into a possible reason, and I am inviting you to glean some of your own insight from the week’s episode too!

S1:E13- ”Be patient mom.”

A story of when my own inability to get a grip on my emotions and my toddler called me out for not behaving the way I expect him to each day. Rightfully so. And, how I apologized, pondered my own behavior thanks to him, and am reflecting on how I can continue to encourage my child to be an advocate for himself and others.

S1E11: Recognizing Gifts

It’s important for us to recognize our own gifts, but it’s equally important to recognize the gifts of those around us. When we do, and when we name them, we help our child know that everyone holds value and that all gifts are just that, gifts to be used to help our world. We teach acceptance and affirmation. We teach love. We encourage are children to be who they were created to be.

It’s just one of many hard conversations that are to come in our journey as a family but by scratching the surface now, we are preparing and equipping our kids for difficult situations and conversations later.

Hear how we can acknowledge and honor the work of our children. Just like us adults, our children want their work to be noticed and appreciated. And when we do, we build up and encourage our child to explore and discover.  When we don't, it can be costly, to our relationship with our children and their own confidence.
